Chandhok tests British F3 car at Silverstone

27 February 2012

Karun Chandhok was at Silverstone on Sunday in order to assist the T-Sport British Formula 3 team with its preparations for the 2012 season. The Indian, who has competed in 11 Formula 1 Grands Prix for either Hispania or Team Lotus across 2010 and 2011, worked alongside Australian rookie Spike Goddard.

“Karun wanted to have a run before Sebring and we wanted to shake down the car,” explained T-Sport Team Principal Russell Eacott. “It was a good day – a little too much traffic for lap times, but helpful for both him and the team. Karun was very pleased with the National car, which bodes well for the coming season.”

Having served as the Team Lotus (now Caterham) reserve driver in 2011, subbing for Jarno Trulli in the German Grand Prix, Chandhok has no F1 deal in place at present.
