T-Sport has retained the services of Australia's Spike Goddard for the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The 20-year-old, who won the British Formula 3 National Class title with the outfit in 2012, is optimistic that although the category poses a 'tough' challenge, he will be able to successfully make the transition.
"I’m looking forward to the challenge of racing in Europe," said Goddard, who hails from Sydney. "We gelled as a team very early on last year so when it came to making my plans for 2013 it was a very simple choice for me. The new European Championship will be tough but I think we are all up for the challenge."
T-Sport boss Russell Eacott added to Goddard's words and believes his hard-working attitude will pay dividends come the end of the season.
"It’s good to retain Spike for the new season," Eacott said of the renewed partnership. "He’s right when he says it’s going to be tough but I have no doubt that he will knuckle down and put in the work required to make this a successful campaign."
The FIA Formula 3 European Championship 2013 season kicks off at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza on the weekend of 23-24 March before visiting nine more circuits, including Formula 1 venues Silverstone, Hockenheim and the Nürburgring.
