Félix da Costa replaces Kvyat for Macau
24 October 2013 – António Félix da Costa has secured the Carlin seat previously held by fellow Red Bull junior Daniil Kvyat for the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, a race he won last season.
Carlin has been forced into a line-up change following the news of Kvyat's graduation to the Toro Rosso Formula 1 team, with the 19-year-old Russian – who is battling for this year's GP3 title – required for the clashing United States Grand Prix weekend.
In order to qualify for the event, which takes place from November 14-17, Félix da Costa is required to contest a prior Formula 3 event. With this weekend's F3 Cup round at the Snetterton circuit the last available opportunity, the Portuguese has filed an entry alongside fellow Macau hopefuls Carlos Sainz, Jr. and Esteban Ocon.
"I am really happy to be racing in Macau again, particularly with Carlin after our success there last year," commented Félix da Costa. "Obviously the aim is to win again, although in Macau you can see your weekend turned around in an instant! But when the opportunity came up to race there again this year, I couldn't say no."
