Félix da Costa to test with Ocean

15 October 2009

Ocean Racing Technology has announced that António Félix da Costa is to test with the team at Paul Ricard in the second week of next month. The Portuguese driver, winner of the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC Championship this year, will pilot the Ocean GP2 car at Paul Ricard on Tuesday 10 November.

Having competed in various series with the Motopark Academy team across 2008 and 2009, 18-year-old Félix da Costa will drive a GP2 car for the first time in France after being handed the opportunity by Tiago Monteiro's team.

"We've been following António's career for some time now and he is certainly a driver that we would like to integrate into Ocean Racing Technology, as he fits right in there with the profile we are aiming for," compatriot and team boss Monteiro commented.

"However, the GP2 Series car is very different to the one he was driving this year and this invitation will allow him to have his first experience of the GP2 Series as well as of our team; it will help us to see how he comes to grips with the car and the team."
