With the 8-round GP2 Asia Series set to move into its second race weekend at Yas Marina, Asturian Villa was confirmed at the team founded by Red Bull F1 Team Principal Christian Horner on Thursday morning. "I am really happy to be racing with Arden," commented Villa, who has three GP2 race victories under his belt.

"They are a good team and I feel we can work together and push hard in these races. I am looking forward to this weekend. Qatar was a night race and I enjoyed that - it was a good race. I am sure I will like the car, the team and the track and I am very motivated for this weekend."

"The Arden team is delighted to have signed Javier Villa for this weekends GP2 Asia round," added Richard Dent, Arden's Head of Race Engineering. "Javier has been involved with the GP2 since 2006 and is familiar with these cars - the first Dallara GP2 model when he joined the series. I am sure he will be a contender this weekend in what looks like a competitive field."
