The Super Nova team has announced that American driver Jake Rosenzweig is joining the outfit for the remaining two meetings of the current GP2 Asia Series season, starting with Bahrain this weekend. The sign-up follows a successful November test for the London-born driver.
Having run in the Super Nova car at Paul Ricard four months ago, Rosenzweig has been confirmed as part of Super Nova's line-up as the squad attempts to confirm third overall in the championship standings.
"I'm very, very excited to have signed for a team with the pedigree of Super Nova and I am very much looking forward to driving the car this weekend in Bahrain, which will be my first experience of the GP2 race weekend format," explained Rosenzweig, who achieved a podium finish in his maiden F3 Euro Series campaign this year.
"I aim to learn quickly and be in with a chance of scoring points this weekend, enabling me to be in an even stronger position for the final race of the championship."
"We are very pleased to welcome Jake into the Super Nova team," added Team Principal David Sears. "I have followed his career in Europe over the past couple of years and have been very impressed by the rate of progress which Jake has shown us. This was demonstrated when he drove our GP2 Main Series car last year and showed a great deal of talent as well as a mature engineering approach.
"I have no doubts that, once Jake has got used to the GP2 Asia car, he will be fighting at the sharp end of the grid."
