Sam Bird left the Circuit de Catalunya with less points than he had hoped for on Sunday but remains upbeat with the early-season performance of the ART Grand Prix team. After missing out on points by just one spot in the feature race, the Londoner score four courtesy of fourth place plus the fastest lap in the sprint race.
It was a weekend of mixed emotions for French squad ART, whose other car of Jules Bianchi found itself in the wars when retiring in a first corner collision on Saturday, having started from pole position - Bird was also affected by the collision with Christian Vietoris' Racing Engineering, having to dodge both spinning cars. Courtesy of Sam's points on Sunday, though, ART lies sixth in the Teams' Championship.

"I am obviously disappointed to only walk away from Barcelona with four points, given the pace we had here," Bird admitted, having stormed back through the pack courtesy of several impressive overtaking moves.
"The Race 1 incident really cost me but these things are part of racing, so you just have to accept them and get on with it.
"The main thing is that we have shown that we are working very constructively as a team to produce a highly competitive package. The car was really strong car this weekend and I want to say a big thanks to everyone at ART GP for all the support and hard work."
