Herck loses pole after yellow flag infringement

28 August 2010

Michael Herck will not start today’s GP2 feature race at Spa-Francorchamps from pole after being penalised by the stewards.

Herck was one of a number of drivers deemed to have failed to sufficiently slow for the yellow flags during qualifying.

He thus picks up a three-place grid penalty and drops to fourth, promoting Jérôme d'Ambrosio to P1 and series leader Pastor Maldonado to P2. Oliver Turvey will start third.

Christian Vietoris, Dani Clos, Alvaro Parente, Max Chilton, Johnny Cecotto and Luca Filippi were also all punished and receive the same penalty, as does Marcus Ericsson, although his infringement occurred during free practice.

Saturday’s Feature Race will begin at 3:40pm local time (BST +1)
