DAMS to test six drivers in Abu Dhabi

22 November 2010

The DAMS team has announced that it will be running no less than six drivers at the upcoming GP2 test session in Abu Dhabi, which is being staged between Tuesday and Sunday of this week.

Affiliated with the Renault Formula 1 squad, DAMS - seventh in this year's teams' standings - is yet to confirm its 2011 line-up although plans for next year will begin to take shape after the Abu Dhabi test.

“At the end of the 2010 season our pace was such that, had we begun the championship with the same level of competitiveness, we'd have been in the running for the title,” team General Manager Loïc David commented.

“Our aim for 2011 is to be ready and quick right from the first event - this is why the Abu Dhabi tests are so very important.

“This week's practice, even if it's with the old car, will help us to evaluate new drivers and prepare for the coming season in the best possible conditions.”

DAMS’ Yas Marina test line-up is as follows:

Tuesday
- Nathanaël Berthon, 21 (FRA)
- Ivan Samarin, 22 (RUS)

Wednesday
- Sam Bird, 23 (GBR)
- Pal Varhaug, 19 (NOR)

Saturday
- Nathanaël Berthon, 21 (FRA)
- Romain Grosjean, 24 (FRA)

Sunday
- Jan Charouz, 23 (CZE)
- Pal Varhaug, 19 (NOR)
