Racing Engineering has released the names of the three drivers who will be testing with the Spanish squad in Abu Dhabi this week. With the four-day test session running on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at Yas Marina, Andrea Caldarelli, Rodolfo González and James Jakes will be behind the wheel.
In the cockpit tomorrow and Wednesday, 20-year-old Italian Caldarelli will test after finishing third in this season’s Italian Formula 3 Championship, with the outing set to mark his first drive in a GP2 car.
Venezuelan González, fresh from his Formula 1 test with Lotus and a familiar name in GP2 with Arden this year, will drive on Saturday and Britain’s Jakes looks forward to his turn on Sunday after returning to GP2 - after suffering a wrist injury - for the season’s final two races with Scuderia Coloni.
