Alexander Rossi was pleased to wrap up his first GP2 test session with fourth position in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, with the ART Grand Prix GP3 driver having circulated the Yas Marina Grand Prix circuit with Racing Engineering.
As David Price Racing topped the timesheets at its final GP2 test, Rossi registered a best lap time of 1:47.280 to be just a tenth of a second off the pace.
“We worked this morning on finding a good balance with the car,” explained the 19-year-old Californian.
“We had a couple of issues, but overall the car was very good at the end. I’m happy with the progression of the day.
“Obviously, you want to be P1, but there are a lot of factors and variables that take place for this to happen in an ultra competitive series.”
Alex now heads home in order to rest plus meet with sponsors and launch his winter training programme.
“It will be the first time I’ve been home since August,” he added, having resided in Italy for much of the year. “It will be quite nice spending time at home for the holidays and training with my hometown trainer.”
