Fauzy loses Sprint Race pole

Fairuz Fauzy will no longer start Sunday's Sprint Race at Spa from pole position, with the Malaysian having his finishing position swapped with Josef Kral due to confusion behind the Safety Car. The latter had finished in seventh place, but the decision moves him back to eighth this afternoon and therefore promotes him to the front of Sunday's grid.

Super Nova's Fauzy was asked to give seventh position back after being judged to have passed his Czech rival behind the Safety Car, but the stewards later opted to switch the positions with the conclusion that Kral had slowed down by too much of a margin.

Because of Kral's much lower speed before the move, officials felt that Fauzy did not need to yield and endeavoured to change the order after the chequered flag.
