The Scuderia Coloni GP2 team has announced that Italy’s Kevin Ceccon will be rejoining the outfit for this year’s Final event in Abu Dhabi. The 18-year-old, new Auto GP Champion, will also be present for this month’s two-day test in Barcelona.
“We are really happy to have Kevin from as soon as Barcelona,” says Team Principal Paolo Coloni. “That way we will have the time to prepare ourselves for the Abu Dhabi finale in the best possible fashion.
“Those days will be very important, as they will give us the chance to both carry on with the technical programme on the car and make useful evaluations in relation to 2012.
“Kevin, with his young age and an Auto GP title won, is undoubtedly the most interesting Italian talent and he has great potential that he clearly showed in Jerez (testing in late September) where he was fifth overall, just two tenths shy of the lead. Our aim is to keep working with him in the same direction.”
The upcoming Circuit de Catalunya test will be staged across Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 October, with the Abu Dhabi finale races then running alongside the Formula 1 Grand Prix event on the weekend of 12-13 November.
