Sweden’s Marcus Ericsson will stay with iSport for the 2012 GP2 campaign, it has been confirmed on Tuesday morning. The Kumla driver, now 21, joined GP2 with Super Nova last year, winning one race. This season, he finished tenth overall.
“I couldn't be happier,” he says. “iSport is a great team and, with the support from my sponsors and the continuity from last year, I feel confident we will be competitive to challenge for the championship.”
The deal is also highly satisfying for Team Principal Paul Jackson.
“Having seen Marcus develop into a real front-runner in 2011, everyone at iSport is delighted to have Marcus on-board for yet another season in which we are hoping to challenge for the title,” Jackson confirms of his ambitions.
