ART's James Calado took control on the second day of this week's GP2 pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya, posting a time of 1:50.218 amid further rainfall. The Briton led Carlin rival Felipe Nasr by almost seven tenths of a second, while compatriot and MP Motorsport driver Adrian Quaife-Hobbs completed the top three.

Cold temperatures and heavy rain again greeted the drivers as they arrived at the Montmeló venue this morning, but this time the entire day was marred. Daniel Abt, Johnny Cecotto Jr. and Riccardo Agostini were all victims of significant standing water at Turn 4, while Stefano Coletti and Julian Leal also caused red flag phases.

Pace-setter Calado looked at ease in the conditions, having previously set the pace during Tuesday's wet morning session. Behind Nasr and Quaife-Hobbs, René Binder featured high up the order for Venezuela GP Lazarus, while Abt bounced back from his earlier incident to finish fifth. Mitch Evans and Tom Dillmann were next up, just ahead of Marcus Ericsson, Cecotto Jr. and Kevin Giovesi who rounded out the top ten.

GP2 testing continues at the Circuit de Catalunya on Thursday morning
