Clos returns to GP2 with MP Motorsport
25 July 2013 – Dani Clos will return to the GP2 Series at this weekend's Hungaroring event. The Spaniard takes the MP Motorsport seat vacated by Adrian Quaife-Hobbs, who on Wednesday was announced at Hilmer Motorsport in place of Robin Frijns.
Clos, who served as test driver for the now defunct HRT outfit last year, has three full GP2 seasons under his belt – all with Racing Engineering. The 24-year-old's maiden victory came in Turkey in 2010, while he has picked up seven further podium finishes.
Although Clos has not raced at the Hungaroring since the 2011 GP2 campaign, he drove a Formula 1 car there in 2012 as one of four Friday practice appearances.
In a further driver reshuffle, Vittorio Ghirelli replaces Fabrizio Crestani at Lazarus.
