Dillmann claims first GP2 pole position
26 July 2013 – Tom Dillmann claimed his maiden GP2 Feature Race pole at the Hungaroring on Friday afternoon, locking out the front row with Russian Time team-mate Sam Bird.
Dillmann, who posted a 1:28.219 in the early stages, stayed on top throughout the session. Bird usurped Racing Engineering driver Fabio Leimer for second late on, but he is under investigation after an incident with Sergio Canamasas (Caterham).
Felipe Nasr bounced back from his short practice outing to claim the second spot on row two, just ahead of DAMS duo Marcus Ericsson and Stéphane Richelmi. Jolyon Palmer wound up seventh, although the Briton will be ruing a mistake on his final lap.
Rio Haryanto, Alexander Rossi and Daniël de Jong completed the top ten, while ART's James Calado and championship leader Stefano Coletti could place no higher than 14th and 18th respectively. Dani Clos finished 23rd upon his return to the series.
Saturday's Feature Race at the Hungaroring begins at 3.40pm local time (GMT +2)
