Raimondo secures maiden GP2 drive
17 September 2013 – Gianmarco Raimondo will make his GP2 debut with Trident Racing at this weekend's Singapore round, becoming the fourth driver to partner Nathanaël Berthon in 2013.
The Canadian, 22, has been out of action since finishing runner-up to Niccolò Schirò in last year's European Formula 3 Open championship. Although limited, he has previous experience in GP2 machinery courtesy of a test with Racing Engineering.
"I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time," said Raimondo. "Although I have not raced in recent months, I have continued to train intensively in terms of both physical and mental preparation, just to be ready if an opportunity presented itself."
Kevin Ceccon, Ricardo Teixeira and Sergio Campana have also occupied the #21 machine this season, with Trident making the most line-up changes of any team.
