Leal switches to Carlin for 2014 season
9 January 2014 – Julián Leal will contest the 2014 GP2 season for Carlin, having sealed a switch from Racing Engineering.
The Colombian, 23, has three terms in the feeder category under his belt, recording his first podium finishes en route to a personal best 12th in the overall classification last year.
He will join Carlin for the opening pre-season test in Abu Dhabi, which takes place from March 11-13.
"I'm delighted to be racing with Carlin this season," said Leal. "The team were very impressive last year and have a great reputation.
"The GP2 Series remains the championship to be in, with another fantastic calendar on the F1 support package.
"Together with Carlin I think we can have a very strong season and I can't wait to get in the car in Abu Dhabi."
"We're delighted that Julián is joining our GP2 team for the 2014 season," added team boss Trevor Carlin.
"He is a very experienced driver and will bring a lot to the team."
