13 March 2014 – Jon Lancaster set the fastest time for MP Motorsport on the final day of the first GP2 pre-season test in Abu Dhabi.
Lancaster, who has yet to confirm his 2014 plans, set a time of 1:49.653 to go two tenths of a second quicker than Trident's Johnny Cecotto Jr., with Tuesday and Wednesday pacesetter Jolyon Palmer in third place.
Hilmer Motorsport's Daniel Abt was fourth, ahead of RT Russian Time's Mitch Evans and McLaren reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne. Stefano Coletti, Alexander Rossi, Raffaele Marciello and Julián Leal rounded out the top 10.
There were a couple of stoppages on the final day of the test: René Binder spun and stopped at Turn 13 while Facu Regalia and Coletti also ground to a halt.
The day's fastest times were all set during the morning session as a minor sandstorm and light rain struck the Yas Marina circuit during the afternoon session.
GP2 will be back in action at the second three-day test next week in Bahrain, ahead of the first round of the season in the country in early April.
