Nasr wins first GP2 race on 50th start
11 May 2014 – Felipe Nasr took his maiden GP2 victory in Barcelona on Sunday, on what was his 50th start in the series.
The Carlin driver, who made an excellent getaway from sixth on the grid, passed Arden stand-in Tom Dillmann for the lead of the Sprint Race on the second lap, a position he would retain until the chequered flag.
Despite an early collision with Caterham's Rio Haryanto, DAMS driver Jolyon Palmer recovered to repeat his second-place finish from Saturday's Feature outing and extend his championship lead to 22 points.
Dillmann took third, ahead of Arthur Pic (Campos) and Julián Leal (Carlin), who sits second in the standings.
Trident's Johnny Cecotto Jr., the winner of Saturday's race, was next to cross the line, with Palmer's DAMS team-mate, Stéphane Richelmi, and Racing Engineering driver Stefano Coletti completing the points positions.
The next round of the GP2 season takes place in Monaco on the weekend of May 24-25
