Nasr storms to pole for Hungary opener
25 July 2014 – Carlin driver Felipe Nasr claimed pole position for Saturday's GP2 Feature Race at the Hungaroring.
The Brazilian moved to the front during the final sequence of qualifying runs, making sure of the top spot with a 1:28.436.
Caterham newcomer Tom Dillmann took second, 0.182 seconds adrift, with Campos driver Arthur Pic third.
Kimiya Sato and Johnny Cecotto, Jr. were late threats but lost time in the closing stages of their final attempts.
After leading the way in practice, ART's Stoffel Vandoorne had to settle for sixth. He starts just in front of championship leader Jolyon Palmer, whose DAMS car is off the front row for the first time this season.
Racing Engineering driver and Ferrari protege Raffaele Marciello followed in eighth place, with MP Motorsport's Marco Sørensen and the second DAMS machine of Stéphane Richelmi rounding out the top 10 positions.
Mitch Evans, a race winner at the past two rounds, struggled to 11th, while Stefano Coletti could only place 15th.
