Coletti stripped of podium, Marciello loses pole
26 July 2014 – Racing Engineering drivers Stefano Coletti and Raffaele Marciello have been given post-race time penalties as a result of transgressions during Saturday afternoon's GP2 Feature Race at the Hungaroring.
Coletti was deemed to have forced Julián Leal off the track at Turn 12 during the early stages of the race and the stewarding panel handed him a 20 second time penalty. The Monegasque loses his podium and drops to 18th.
Marciello had collected eighth place – and the Sprint Race pole position – but was given the same penalty after stewards concluded that he overtook Stoffel Vandoorne before the first Safety Car line. He falls to 19th.
Coletti's penalty elevates Adrian Quaife-Hobbs to second and Takuya Izawa to a maiden podium finish.
Nathanaël Berthon gains two places and therefore inherits pole position for Sunday morning's race.
