Vandoorne to stay with ART in 2015
14 January 2015 – McLaren young driver Stoffel Vandoorne will remain with ART for a second season in GP2.
Vandoorne joined ART in 2014 and claimed four victories on his way to the runner-up spot in the championship, marking the best performance by a rookie for several years.
The Belgian, who also participated in Formula 1 tests for McLaren last year, will stay with the squad in order to mount a title challenge this season.
"In the wake of a great season in 2014, I am very happy to continue with ART Grand Prix in GP2," said Vandoorne.
"We showed we are the team to beat and many of our competitors have already pointed to us as their target, it's normal and rather flattering.
"I am confident because it will be my second year with a fantastic team that I know well.
"Apart from the [introduction of] DRS, the regulations won't change and I now have experience of the circuits, races, pit stops and tyre management.
"The objective is clear: we want to win the title."
