Renault tester Sirotkin gets Baku F2 seat
19 June 2017 – Sergey Sirotkin will race for ART Grand Prix in this weekend's round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship, in place of Alexander Albon.
Albon graduated to the category for 2017 after finishing as runner-up to Charles Leclerc in GP3, and holds sixth in the standings, having scored points at every race so far.
However, Albon broke his collarbone after falling from his bike while training last week and will not be able to drive in Azerbaijan as a result.
His seat will be taken by Renault Formula 1 test driver Sirotkin, fresh off the back of his Le Mans debut at the weekend.
Sirotkin spent two years in the support category under its GP2 guise in 2015 and 2016, the latter with the French ART squad.
Sirotkin finished third in the championship last year, taking two wins.
