Philippe joins Conquest for two races

5 August 2009

Conquest Racing has confirmed that it has signed 23-year-old Frenchman Nelson Philippe for the Sonoma and Homestead-Miami rounds of the 2009 IndyCar Series season.

Philippi enjoyed his IndyCar series debut at the Indianapolis 500 this year. The Frenchman has a lot of history at Conquest. In 2004 he competed in six races for Conquest while in 2005 he was the team's driver from start to finish.

"I am very happy to be returning to Conquest Racing. It is an excellent team with who I have very much enjoyed working with in the past and look forward to working with again this season," said Philippe. "I am excited to get back behind the wheel of an indy car again and can't wait to drive it on the road course at Sonoma. By doing only three races this year I am keeping my rookie status and I can't wait to fight for the Rookie of the Year title in 2010."
