Andretti Green welcomes Franck Montagny

Andretti Green welcomes Franck Montagny

12 August 2009

Franck Montagny will be driving in Andretti Green's fifth car when he joins the IndyCar Series at Sears Point next weekend. The Frenchman from Feurs, whose position will be funded by AFS - sponsor of the sister Indy Lights championship - will be joining Marco Andretti, Tony Kanaan, Hideki Mutoh and Danica Patrick at the Californian venue.

With only four rounds to go this season, the AGR squad could be presented with more strategically options by running another car, starting at the next round at the Infineon Raceway.

"I was able to test one of the team's Indycars last year and very much enjoyed driving it," explained 31-year-old Montagny, who drove in 7 Formula One races for the Super Aguri team in 2006 as well as finishing in a strong second place for Forsythe Racing in last year's season-ending Champ Car race at Long Beach.

"Being able to test at the track this week will be very helpful for me to learn the circuit and prepare for the race; we have a lot of work to do to get ready but I believe we are up to the challenge."
