Andretti Autosport re-signs Patrick

Andretti Autosport re-signs Patrick

30 November 2009

Andretti Autosport, the team formerly known at Andretti Green Racing, has confirmed its renewal of Danica Patrick's contract in what has been described as a multi-year agreement. The announcement also includes team title sponsorship from web hosting company Go Daddy.

With the team now run only by Michael Andretti following a management reshuffle last week, the confirmation of Patrick is the first for the team under its new guise, which sees the car take on an all-green livery.

"I'm happy to be able to announce that I'm returning to Andretti Autosport," Danica commented after the car was unveiled live from New York on ABC's 'Good Morning America' television programme. "Michael Andretti has helped me become a better driver and we hope to accomplish a great deal during the next few years together.

"Go Daddy and Bob Parsons (CEO and founder) have believed in me from the start. You know, my life-long goal is to win the Indy 500 and I'd love to do that in the GoDaddy.com car."

"All of us at Andretti Autosport are looking forward to having Danica back with the team and are excited about working with Bob Parsons and everyone at Go Daddy as the primary sponsor on Danica's car," added Andretti, who now serves as Chairman, President and CEO of the team. "Go Daddy brings a lot of energy to our team and to the IZOD IndyCar Series. We're very excited about the opportunity to work with them in 2010 and beyond."
