KV IndyCar to adopt traditional Lotus livery

13 March 2010

IndyCar Series team KV Racing Technology has announced that a technical partnership with the Lotus Group will see its car of Takuma Sato run in the company's legendary yellow and British racing green colour scheme from this season's second race in St. Petersburg.

With the Lotus name having returned to Formula 1 this year for the first time since 1994, its livery will also be making an appearance on the other side of the pond as ex F1 driver Sato sports the iconic colours in IndyCars.

"This is fantastic news for everyone," the Japanese driver said. "It is exciting for me to be a Lotus driver and I'm really looking forward to great success with this new project."

"Racing has always defined Lotus and on many occasions in motorsport history Lotus' numerous innovations have re-defined racing," commented Dany Bahar, CEO of Group Lotus.

"It's only fitting that, as the Lotus Racing name re-enters Formula 1, we will also race and innovate again in IndyCar. The Lotus name will once again compete in the top two open-wheel racing series for the passion and enthusiasm of car fans around the globe."
