Baguette joins IndyCar Series with Conquest

22 March 2010

Bertrand Baguette has confirmed that he will be racing with the Conquest team in the IndyCar Series from the third race of the season onwards. The World Series by Renault Champion will therefore make his Indy debut at the Barber Motorsports Park before driving in the prestigious Indy 500 in late May.

Having run with only Brazilian Mario Romancini for the season-opening race in São Paulo two weekends ago, it is now official that Conquest will be fielding a car for Baguette for all but two of this year's races, meaning the Belgian will take part in the legendary Indianapolis 500 for the first time.

"I'm obviously delighted to find myself in one of the most prestigious motor racing championships in the world," he said. "The confirmation of this programme has strengthened my motivations.

"I am now working hard in order to be as fit as possible for my IndyCar debut on the streets of Birmingham, Alabama on 11 April."
