Baguette satisfied with first IndyCar race

12 April 2010

Bertrand Baguette, the reigning World Series by Renault Champion, was pleased with his IndyCar debut for Conquest Racing on Sunday. After starting at the back, the Belgian finished 20th in Birmingham, Alabama and ahead of three established runners.

After clinching Renault's World Series title in dominant fashion last year, 24-year-old Bertrand made the switch to IndyCars at the weekend.

"I am quite happy with the race today, especially with the pace, after the tough weekend we had been experiencing," he commented at the Barber Motorsports Park.

"Now we just need to work on our pit-stops; we lost quite a lot of time there, which was partly my mistake because I came into the pits a lap too early, when the crew wasn't ready.

"We are still developing as a team and getting to know each other but I think we did some good things on the setup today and are moving in the right direction."
