Carroll to join Andretti in second half of season

30 April 2010

The Andretti Autosport team has announced that Ireland's Adam Carroll will be making a number of IndyCar Series appearances towards the back end of the 2010 season. The Portadown driver is yet to compete in an international motorsport series since clinching the A1 Grand Prix title of 2008-09.

Having helped carry Ireland to the last A1GP crown to date, Carroll - who boasts race wins in Formula Renault Campus, Formula Ford, Formula 3 and GP2 as well as A1 - will be driving for Andretti in selected Indy rounds later this year.

"I'm very excited to be joining the driver line-up at Andretti Autosport," said the 27-year-old. "It is gratifying to know that the success I've enjoyed so far in my career has drawn the attention of a team owner like Michael Andretti."

"We're very excited that Adam is on-board," Andretti added. "He is a special talent and someone who we believe will have a bright future with us at Andretti Autosport.

"It was important for us to give him an opportunity this year and start building for the years to come. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do later this year."
