Former Formula 1 driver Takuma Sato is eager to take part in this year's Indianapolis 500, which will be held at the end of the month. The Japanese KV Racing driver was all smiles at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of his first outing on-track this week.
"My excitement is as high as it's ever been," he told the Indy Star. "The truth is, I probably won't understand it all until later because I haven't experienced it.
"From what I've heard, you go through these two weeks, go through qualifying, get to the race and then you will get another level of excitement, which I can only imagine."
Sato - complete with a green and yellow Lotus livery - completed just 15 laps on his first day of practice at the Speedway, as the day was cut short due to rain. "I wasn't really driving that fast but I got the feeling of it - and I kind of like it!" he smiled.
