Castroneves: I can't handle that much pressure!
24 May 2010 – Helio Castroneves admits that the tension was mounting in the Penske garage prior to his final runs in qualifying on Saturday. Eventually, courtesy of a best effort of 2:37.915, the Brazilian Penske driver claimed his fourth Indianapolis 500 pole position from team-mate Will Power.
Having left the pits in the early stages of the session, Castroneves then watched much of the action from the garage although the 2009 race winner admits that returning to the track as others continued to lap was, at times, his only thought.
"It's great to have a 1-2 start for Team Penske but it's a shame that Ryan (Briscoe) didn't have his chance on the last one.
"It's great to be part of this team, we work so well together. I'm on the pole but all three of us benefit from it. I'm very proud of my team - they did a great job today."
