Hunter-Reay stays with Andretti until end of year

5 July 2010

Andretti Autosport has confirmed that Ryan Hunter-Reay will be remaining in the cockpit until the end of the season, having recently announced drives race-by-race. The news on Sunday was accompanied by another impressive performance by the Dallas man, who charged through the field at Watkins Glen.

After starting 16th, Hunter-Reay began to fight his way up the order although a stall at a pit-stop resulted in more lost time. However, Ryan still managed to climb back to eighth place, ahead of 2008 Champion Scott Dixon.

“I can’t even begin to describe my sense of relief, appreciation and excitement as we look forward to a complete season,” he said, with his seat in the #37 car confirmed.

“So many different people, organisations, companies and partners pulled together to make this a reality and I have to thank them for their belief in me.

“Andretti Autosport and Michael Andretti have been so supportive in so many ways; they have really dug deep to, not only get me and the #37 car on-track this season, but to keep it there.

“As I’ve been saying all along, this team is incredibly good at what it does and that’s why we’ve not only won together already, but we are now making it a full-season effort.”
