Scheckter rejoins Dreyer & Reinbold for Toronto
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has announced that Tomas Scheckter will be rejoining the outfit ahead of next weekend's round of the championship in Toronto. The return of the South African, substituting for the injured Mike Conway, will be accompanied by sponsor MonaVie, maker of energy drink products.
With Conway still out of action following his huge accident in May's Indianapolis 500, Scheckter rejoins the squad with its #24 entry following a season of driving last year plus the 2010 events at Indy and Texas.
“I am really happy to be in a DRR car again,” he said. “I know the task ahead at Toronto will be challenging and for the most part it will be good to learn from Justin (Wilson) and his experience on street courses.
“I look forward to the challenge and feel at home at DRR for this event given our good race pace last year. I have to thank not only Dennis, Robbie and Larry Curry, but MonaVie and their support for allowing me to be back in the race car where I feel most at home.”
