Scheckter returns with Conquest
26 August 2010 – Tomas Scheckter has been confirmed as making an IndyCar Series comeback with Conquest Racing as the championship moves on to Chicagoland this weekend.
With Francesco Dracone not competing in Chicago, the son of 1979 Formula 1 World Champion Jody is delighted to be returning to the cockpit.
“I'm very happy to be joining Conquest,” said the South African, who has already raced for Dreyer & Reinbold on four occasions this season.
“Eric (Bachelart, team owner) and I have been talking for quite a while and when this opportunity came up I immediately took advantage of it.
“I know some of the guys in the team - from having worked with them in the past - and I am really looking forward to working with them again, as well as with everyone else.
"We're coming together a little bit at the last minute but I’m confident we can come out with a good result – there’s a lot of good people in this team.”
