Junqueira joins A.J. Foyt for Indy 500

A.J. Foyt Racing has confirmed that Bruno Junqueira will be racing alongside Vitor Meira for this year’s Indianapolis 500, with the centenary edition taking place at the legendary Speedway on 29 May. The Brazilian will pilot the #84 ABC Supply car.

“I am very happy,” he commented. “First, because I love the race. Secondly, because the biggest Champion in that race is A.J. Foyt – he’s won as a driver and he’s won as a team owner. Thirdly, I’m going to have Vitor - who is a good friend and a good driver – as my team-mate, so I think it’s a perfect combination.”

Meira also looks forward to the occasion.

“Aside from our friendship, which we’ve had for a long time, Bruno is an awesome addition to the team because of the amount of experience he brings with him,” he said. “This year’s race will be the toughest in a long time and we need to have every tool available to get 100 percent out of the car.”
