Schmidt confirms Howard for Indy 500

Jay Howard is the latest name to be pencilled onto the Indianapolis 500 entry list for 2011, having inked a deal to drive for Sam Schmidt Motorsports.

After first being linked to the agreement last month, the 29-year-old Englishman is now officially confirmed for his Indy debut due to a merge between Schmidt’s outfit and Rahal Letterman Langan Racing.

The 2006 Indy Lights Champion from Basildon will be driving alongside American Townsend Bell and Canadian Alex Tagliani.
