Pagenaud replaces injured Beatriz for Barber
7 April 2011 – Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has confirmed that France’s Simon Pagenaud will be stepping in for Ana Beatriz this weekend, with the latter having been injured at the opening IndyCar race of the season in St. Petersburg.
Both Beatriz and team-mate Justin Wilson suffered fractured wrists in Round 1, having come into contract with other cars at least twice.
However, the Brazilian was forced to undergo surgery following a heavy Lap 5 touch with Graham Rahal’s Ganassi car and resultant sudden steering wheel movements.
Pagenaud will therefore be making his IndyCar Series debut at the Barber Motorsports Park. Also confirmed as driving this weekend will be Bertrand Baguette with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
