Power demanding consistent steward decisions
27 April 2011 – Will Power has called upon IndyCar Series officials to deliver more consistent outcomes when handing out penalties. The comments come from the Penske driver following a collision with team-mate Helio Castroneves at Long Beach.
With Castroneves having come under fire for a number of on-track incidents of late, the touch between the two Penskes was let off as both cars were from the same team. However, Power remains unhappy with the alleged variation of stewards’ decisions.
“Oddly enough, (Castroneves) ended up in the back in front of me,” Power is quoted as saying by the IndyStar. “I think they need to take a look at Formula 1, DTM, V8 Supercars - there's three series that have a very good system of penalties.
“You have faith in the system when it's consistent.”
