Rice to return for final two races
8 September 2011 – It is official that Buddy Rice, winner of the Indianapolis 500 in 2004, will be returning to the IndyCar Series for this season’s final two races in Kentucky and Las Vegas.
Driving alongside J.R. Hildebrand at Panther, the 35-year-old will mark his first appearance in the championship since the Dreyer & Reinbold outings of 2008.
“I'm just excited to be back at Panther Racing and thankful to run some more races together,” says the Phoenix man. “Like I said before we ran Indianapolis, I've had a lot of chances to get back into IndyCar but at Panther we know we've got a package together that can win races.
“I know Panther was really strong at Kentucky last year and they've got one of the best oval programmes in the series, so I know J.R. and I can work together to get these cars towards the front.”
