Conway signs with A.J. Foyt for 2012

21 December 2011

Britain’s Mike Conway has confirmed a 2012 IndyCar deal with the reputable A.J. Foyt Racing team. The 28-year-old from Bromley in Kent, who is managed by ex Formula 1 driver Mark Blundell, was Honda’s F1 test driver in 2007.

Conway, who won this year’s Long Beach Grand Prix for Andretti Autosport, will drive the #14 ABC Supply Honda chassis.

“First of all I’d like to thank 2MB Sports Management and A.J. Foyt Racing for making this deal come together,” he says. “I can't wait to start work with the A.J. Foyt Racing team and to drive the number 14 ABC Supply Car.  It's going to be an exciting season with the new cars and multiple engine manufacturers.

“Hopefully we can hit the ground running with off-season developments and be quick out the box.  I’m counting the days until the first test and the start of the season.”

For the 2012 IndyCar season, Honda receives competition as an engine supplier in the form of both Chevrolet and Lotus.
