Push-to-pass to return for five races
Organisers of the IndyCar Series have announced that the push-to-pass feature is to return for five races. It will first reappear for the Toronto race this weekend.
Push-to-pass was first brought into the series in 2009, allowing drivers to bring in a turbocharger boost and addition revs to complete an overtaking maneuver.
“It will be similar to what it was in the past because we know that model worked,” confirms Will Phillips, IndyCar’s Vice President of Technology.
The aid will be available for a pre-determined amount of time, with the exact number of seconds depending on the circuit in question.
