Davison to make debut with Dale Coyne
26 July 2013 – James Davison will make his IndyCar debut at next weekend's Mid-Ohio round, having put together an initial one-race agreement with the Dale Coyne Racing team.
The Australian tested for the outfit at the road circuit last month, and will take the #18 seat also occupied by Ana Beatriz, Mike Conway and Pippa Mann this season.
"It's an incredible feeling to finally realise my dream of becoming an IndyCar driver after four years of adversity on the sidelines," 26-year-old Davison explained. "I've had to work overtime for this opportunity and can't thank Dale Coyne and all my supporters enough for their continued faith in me."
"There will no doubt be a lot to learn, however this is the challenge of racing some of the best drivers and teams in the world in IndyCar. I'll be pushing to achieve the best possible result in my rookie race."
Davison raced in the Indy Lights category from 2008-2009, picking up two victories at Mid-Ohio. The 2009 runner-up has since made limited Grand-Am appearances.
