Viso fastest as thunderstorms hit Indy
14 May 2014 – E.J. Viso was the quickest driver on a severely limited third day of practice for the Indianapolis 500.
Viso, substituting for James Hinchcliffe at Andretti as the Canadian recovers from concussion, racked up a total of 43 laps during the only hour of running, ending up with an average lap speed of 224.488 mph.
NASCAR star and fellow Andretti driver Kurt Busch was second, ahead of Penske's Juan Pablo Montoya.
Despite the conditions, 31 of the 33 drivers ventured out, with only Buddy Lazier and James Davison yet to run.
