Hawksworth cleared to return at Iowa
9 July 2014 – Jack Hawksworth has been cleared to contest this weekend's IndyCar round at the Iowa Speedway.
The Bryan Herta Autosport driver, one of four full-time rookies in the 2014 field, was ruled out of the last race at Pocono Raceway after suffering a myocardial contusion – a bruised heart – during a heavy practice crash.
He spent Saturday night in hospital and was cleared by series Medical Director Dr. Michael Olinger on Tuesday.
Hawksworth received half points for the Pocono event, following which he sits 16th in the standings.
