IndyCar adds New Orleans to 2015 roster
28 August 2014 – IndyCar will race in New Orleans next season, with the Grand Prix of Louisiana being added to the roster.
The race will be held on a 13-turn, 2.67-mile road course at NOLA Motorsports Park, located on the south side of the city, which is being refurbished and adjusted for the series through a mixture of state and private funding.
"We're delighted about the opportunity to showcase the Verizon IndyCar Series at NOLA Motorsports Park and to IndyCar fans in the greater New Orleans area," said Mark Miles, CEO of Hulman & Co., the parent of IndyCar and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "New Orleans has a history of hosting successful major sporting events and we're thrilled to be able to add the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana to the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule."
The event has been slated for April 10-12, the same weekend as the music-related French Quarter Festival.
