Aleshin's condition upgraded to stable
31 August 2014 – Mikhail Aleshin will remain in hospital but his condition has been upgraded to stable following his huge IndyCar practice crash at Fontana.
Aleshin was diagnosed with a concussion, fractured ribs, a broken right clavicle and chest injuries after the accident and will remain at the Loma Linda University Medical Center following a procedure for a chest injury.
Charlie Kimball, also involved in the accident, was cleared to drive and finished last night's season finale in 12th position.
Australian driver Will Power clinched his maiden title courtesy of a ninth place finish.
