Hunter-Reay gets green light for Pocono
20 August 2017 – Ryan Hunter-Reay has been cleared to race at Pocono later on Sunday in the wake of his hefty accident during qualifying.
Hunter-Reay impacted the wall after losing control of his car through Turn 3 and was transported by road to a local hospital as a precaution, due to hip and knee complaints.
Hunter-Reay was released after a few hours but required a check-up on Sunday morning, which he has successfully passed.
The Andretti driver will start from the rear of the field, with team-mate Takuma Sato lining up in pole position.
